Why this is the one most people book
Because it removes every decision. A Blue Mountains day has four things you might pay for on top of transport — a Scenic World pass, a wildlife park, lunch, and the way home — and this fare covers all four. Bought separately at the gate, the Scenic World pass alone is from $64 an adult.
It is also the most-reviewed day of any captured here by a wide margin, which tells you something about how reliably it does what it says. The operator holds a Blue Mountains National Park Eco Pass, which is a licence rather than a marketing line: it permits commercial operation inside the park with access a general permit does not carry.
What you give up is flexibility. This is a fixed itinerary with a hard schedule, and the meeting point cannot be changed inside twenty-four hours. Book this if
It is your first visit and you have one day. You want the famous things done properly, with nothing left to organise and nothing left to pay for. You are travelling with children who will get more out of a koala and a cable car than out of a three-hour walk. You would rather arrive back at Circular Quay on a boat than on a motorway.
Book something else if
You came to walk. Two hours of this day is inside attractions with gates on them, and if that is not what you want, the waterfall walk day costs less than half as much and puts ninety minutes into the descent to Wentworth Falls instead. You also want something else if a 6:30am alarm is the problem — the late-start sunset day leaves at ten.

Where it leaves from, and the rule about changing it
Pickup is from a set of Sydney CBD meeting points, confirmed to you in advance rather than picked on the morning, with departures from the city centre, The Rocks and Darling Harbour between about 6:30 and 6:50 in the morning. Arrive five minutes early: different coaches are assigned to different points, and late check-in means missing the tour with no refund.
Meeting points cannot be changed on the day of travel or within twenty-four hours of it. If you are travelling with friends on separate bookings and want to sit together, tell the operator at least a day ahead so you are put on the same bus.
Know before you go
- No storage on board. Wheelchairs, walkers, prams and luggage cannot be carried. Leave bags at your hotel or at a station locker before you come.
- There is a dress code. No singlets, no flip-flops. Closed shoes are sensible anyway at 1,017 metres.
- Name your wildlife park early. Featherdale or Sydney Zoo, at least twenty-four hours ahead. Late requests cannot be accommodated.
- Rain does not cancel it. A wet forecast will not change the departure. If you would rather not risk the view, cancel free twenty-four hours out and rebook — the weather page shows which months are clearest.
- It gets cold. Katoomba runs about five degrees below the Sydney forecast. Bring a layer you can put on at Echo Point.
- The ferry is part of the day. You finish at Circular Quay, not where you started, so plan the evening from there rather than from your pickup point.

How much does Scenic World cost, and is it included?
Scenic World is privately run and sells its own day pass from $64 an adult, covering the Railway, Skyway, Cableway and Walkway. Some of the day tours put that pass inside the fare and others rule it out; the rest do not mention it, and their cards stay silent rather than guess. Its own hours are 10am to 4pm on weekdays and 9am to 5pm at weekends.
Which tours include lunch?
The all-inclusive coach day, the waterfall walk from Haymarket, the late-start kangaroo day and the eight-hour day that starts in Katoomba all cover it. Others recommend a cafe in Leura or Katoomba inside their inclusions list while excluding lunch itself, so read that as a suggestion rather than a meal. Every card here says which of the two it is.
Do the tours pick up from my hotel?
Some do and several deliberately do not, which is the most common surprise on the morning. What time do the day tours start and finish?
The early coaches leave central Sydney between 6:30 and 7:30 in the morning and return around six in the evening.
